How to Become a Cultural Performer at the Wheeling International Festival
We are excited to welcome cultural performers to the stage at the Wheeling International Festival on Sunday, August 10th, 2025! If you or your group would like to share your culture through music, dance, storytelling, or other performing arts, we invite you to apply for a performance slot.
Performance Guidelines:
-
Engaging Content: Performances should be family-friendly and engaging for a diverse audience. Acts that highlight cultural traditions, education, and heritage are strongly encouraged.
-
Time Limit: Each performance may last up to 25 minutes, including set-up and take-down time. Please plan your act accordingly to ensure a smooth schedule.
-
Equipment & Instruments: All instruments, props, and costumes must be provided and transported by the performing group.
-
Sound Support: Event staff will be on-site to assist with basic sound needs (e.g., microphones, speakers). Please indicate any special requirements in your application.
-
Stage Space: Performers will have access to a designated performance area; however, space may be limited, so acts should be flexible with staging needs.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and evaluated by the festival committee based on the following criteria:
-
Cultural Representation: We aim to showcase a wide variety of global cultures and traditions.
-
Experience: Prior performance experience is helpful but not required.
