The Ŵest Indian Dance Theater Company preserves the culture of the West Indies through the art of traditional, modern, and folk dances accompanied by live African and Caribbean drums and other artifacts. The company was formed in Montego Bay Jamaica in the early 70s. By the early 80s, it was thriving in the City of Chicago where it remains the premier company of the Afro-Caribbean aesthetic. Today we perform a collage of folk songs detailing days of Island life, and then we will get you out of your seat for game and dance.
